Youth Concussion Screening
It can be scary when your young one experiences a concussion. The rise of intensity in youth sports puts children at more risk, at a younger age. However, simple accidents occur and cause concussion just as frequently.
Besides the typical symptoms, children can display other behaviors that could indicate a concussion.
There can be immediate physical, cognitive, and emotional changes, including foggy thinking and tearfulness.
These symptoms generally resolve quickly, within a few hours to within a few weeks, but for a small percentage, these symptoms persist. It is important to identify symptoms so that interventions can be established immediately.
Post-concussion screenings are available after an event has occurred, and our providers will work closely with your doctor in determining a safe and appropriate time for return to work or play clearance.
